ASU sets the first records of 2016 admission campaign

The work of 2016 admission campaign continues to be carried out at Altai State University. As for 1 July 2016, the university has collected applications from 1920 enrollees, which 500 more than for 1 July 2015.

“Every day our university accepts documents from 350 to 450 people, who would like to take bachelor’s, specialist’s or master’s degree courses at Altai State University. Moreover, the number of applications for the bachelor’s degree programs is two times higher than the previous year, while for the specialist’s degree programs it is five time higher!” noted executive secretary of ASU Admission Board, Candidate of History Ivan I. Nazarov.

The majority of enrollees come from Altai Krai. Although, school graduates from other regions (the Republic of Altai, Novosibirsk Oblast, Kemerovo Oblast, Krasnoyarsk Krai and Tyva Republic) have become more active recently. The university has also accepted document from 173 foreign citizens from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and other countries.

“It is important that despite the stricter admission procedures for the competition winners, Altai State University still attracts a lot of talented young people. For the present moment, we have already received applications from 7 competition winners, who will be admitted to the university without any entrance examinations,” said Ivan I. Nazarov.

It is to be reminded, that Altai State University has been working with the talented youth for many years and has a special support program. In particular, the university offers the enhanced scholarships system: all-Russian competitions winners’ scholarship accounts for 20,000 roubles (around 300 USD), the scholarship of honour certificate holders is 8,000 roubles (125 USD), the scholarship for getting 100 points at the Unified State Exam is 10,000 roubles (155 USD), etc.
