On November 18, free continuing education courses for managers and specialists of small and medium-sized enterprises under the program "Effective Business Management", organized as part of the Governor's program to support small and medium-sized businesses, started at Altai State University.

Welcoming the students of the course, Rector of Altai State University Sergey N. Bocharov recalled that he had first-hand knowledge of the Governor's program and had been teaching economic disciplines to its participants for a long time.

“Altai State University has been implementing the Governor's program to support small and medium-sized businesses since 2011, and during this time it has trained more than 1300 people. Today there are about 50 thousand business entities in the region, and there is a constant rotation in this area. Some enterprises leave the market, others arise and, accordingly, the need for new specialists always exists. Moreover, the market economy is in the process of constant changes and we are very pleased that it is Altai State University that is involved in the training of new specialists for the regional economy. I’m sure that you will be satisfied with the program and the teaching staff of the course, and the knowledge gained here will certainly be useful to you in practice,” head of the region’s flagship university said.

Altai State University began to implement the program not only in Barnaul, but also on the basis of its branches in Biysk and Rubtsovsk, where more than 100 people will be trained.

The educational process in the courses includes practical classes, business games, master classes, trainings in the following areas: team building, team facilitation, small business support infrastructure, taxation of small and medium-sized businesses (choice of taxation regime), the basics of lean manufacturing, Internet marketing as the basis for business and product promotion, digital technologies in small business management, financial literacy of an entrepreneur, small business development strategy, government procurement.

“A distinctive feature of our program is that during the training we will deal with those acute and problematic topics which arise a great number of questions among the entrepreneurs,” Vitaliy V. Mishchenko, Director of the Center for Advanced Studies of State and Municipal Employees of ASU, said. “In addition, in the program we focus on the topic of team building, talk about the features of small business participation in public procurement, as there are certain benefits for this category of businessmen, which not all entrepreneurs know about yet. During the training, we will introduce students to the benefits of Internet marketing, teach how to manage small businesses with the help of digital technologies, and so on.”

The most successful students will be given an opportunity to take an internship at leading enterprises or organizations in Altai Krai and Novosibirsk Oblast, which is a fundamentally new stage of the Governor’s program.
