III International Educational Forum “Altai-Asia 2016” has been launched

On 22 September 2016 Altai State University has launched the III International Educational Forum “Altai-Asia 2016: Eurasian Educational Space – New Challenges and Best Practices”.

The forum hosts more than 40 foreign guests – scientists and lecturers from Austria, India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Armenia, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, China, Mongolia, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan. Besides, specialists of 29 Russian universities of Moscow, Saint-Petersburg, Tiraspol, Simferopol, Bryansk, Ulan-Ude, Orenburg, Abakan, Omsk, Chelyabinsk, Krasnoyarsk and other cities  are going to present their development at Altai-Asia 2016.

The forum was opened by chairman of the Rectors Council of Altai Krai and the Republic of Altai, Rector of Altai State University Sergey V. Zemlyukov. He emphasized that intensive event program will acquaint the participants with universities’ educational projects and programs and beautiful nature of Altai Krai.

“This is the 3rd educational forum, and it means that we have shaped a good tradition for solving relevant problems of education. The first Altai-Asia forum, which was conducted in 2012, hosted 120 experts from 7 countries and resulted in publishing a collective volume titled “Modernization of Professional Education in Russia and Other Countries”. Participants of the second forum included 150 representatives of 9 countries and 30 constituent entities of Russia. We focused on researching Eurasian education space,” reminded Sergey V. Zemlyukov. “Apart from carrying out plenary meetings and key sessions, we have adopted foresight sessions, open lectures, round tables and other formats of work. These practices are present in the program of the third Altai-Asia forum, which hosts 158 experts from 40 universities of Russia and 20 foreign participants from 13 universities of 11 countries.”

Acting head of Central Department for Education and Science of Altai Krai Marina V. Dyubenkova greeted the participants on behalf of Altai Krai Governor Alexander B. Karlin:

“The forum participants are to analyze universities’ development strategies in terms of global competition, discuss prospects for improvement of innovative educational management. In view of this, it will be interesting for our scientists to exchange opinions and experience with the colleagues from China, Japan, India and other Central Asian countries. I believe that the forum participants will open up a lot of new opportunities for joint research and educational work.”

Chief federal inspector in Altai Krai Mikhail V. Chuguev welcomed the participants of Altai-Asia on behalf of Presidential Representative in Siberian Federal District Sergey I. Meniailo:

“There is a proverb, which says “All good things come in threes”! Two previous forums were organized on a high level, which is why the third one is now being conducted. I am sure that the forum has bright future, because it brings up significant and relevant issues and the list of participants is impressive. It is hard to underestimate the role of education and science in dynamically and rapidly changing world, so I wish you to find new practices, new ways of cooperation and achieve success in your hard work.”

Chairman of Rectors Council of Siberian Federal District, Rector of Novosibirsk State Technical University, Professor Nikolay V. Pustovoy and vice-chairman of Interregional Association “Siberian Agreement”, director of the Department for Science and Education Evgeniy A. Sazonov also congratulated the guests on start of the forum work.

The opening ceremony continued with the first part of the plenary session, where the reports on education strategies of Russia, Asia, Europe and America were delivered by the first vice rector for educational work of ASU Evgeniy S. Anichkin, director of Institute of Education Development under National Research University “High School of Economics” (Moscow) Irina V. Abankina, executive director of Russian Classical Universities Association (Moscow) Evgeniya V. Karavaeva and research officer of Institute of Scientific Theory under International Research Center (Salzburg, Austria), PhD Elena B. Kamenskaya.
