“The Role of BRICS in Global Policy” discussion was held in ASU

The discussion concerning the role of BRICS in global policy was on of the events from BRICS Youth Assembly Conference program. It was conducted on 24 June with the participation of programming director of the National Committee for BRICS Research Liana A. Vyazovskaya.

The aim of the event was to discuss the main milestones of BRICS history. The participants had to answer the question “What can be considered the origin of BRICS?”, trace the history of BRICS through the summits, expand abbreviations and explain the terms CW, SCO, AU, Soft Power, Sherpa and others.

The participants were supposed to answer the questions as fast as they could. The judges, which were chosen from the audience, made rankings. Thus, the experts in BRICS kept track of the most active participants, the analysts of gender policy watched whether males or females give more right answers, and specialist in BRICS terms helped moderator L.A. Vyazovskaya with the tasks.

The discussion did not only help the participants to approve themselves and share their knowledge, but also to get acquainted to each other. Finally, the judges made a conclusion: the most active cities were Moscow, Cheboksary and Biysk, females are more active than males. Although, it was only a game.

At the end of the event the participants watched a movie dedicated to BRICS Youth Summit (Moscow-Kazan – 2015).
