ASU will co-organize festival of Russian and Kyrgyz national cultures in Bishkek

The I Congress-Exhibition “Russian Word in the Dialogue of Russian and Kyrgyz Cultures” will take place on the premises of B.N. Yeltsin Kyrgyz Russian Slavic University on 25–26 October 2017. Altai State University is a key organizer of the event on the Russian side.

One of the key events of the congress-exhibition will be a festival of Russian and Kyrgyz national cultures, which will host the best creative teams of Kyrgyz Russian Slavic University and Kyrgyzstan on the whole.

“The main idea of the festival is to unite the cultures of two peoples that remain fraternal. The festival will demonstrate how people in Kyrgyzstan care with respect to Russian culture, how well classics and folklore are balanced, how different works written several centuries ago are modernly understood. Of course, the festival will follow the main aim of the congress, which is to promote Russian culture in Kyrgyzstan,” Vice Dean of the Faculty of Arts at Altai State University Ksenia A. Melekhova noted.

The festival program will include performances by winners of national, regional and city competitions of student creativity, as well as participants of aesthetic education studios at Kyrgyz Russian Slavic University. Dance ensembles of Kyrgyz Russian Slavic University will show bright and colorful Kyrgyz and Russian dances and modern choreographic compositions.

“Participants of Kyrgyz University’s vocal studios will sing vocal compositions written by Kyrgyz and Russian authors and Russian folk songs. The audience will also hear Kyrgyz folk-tunes, musical and poetic composition based on the works by A.S. Pushkin and a part of famous Juno and Avos opera. The role of the Demon from the poem by Mikhail Lermontov will be played by the leading actor and director of State National Russian Drama Theater Marat Amirayev,” representative of the congress organizing committee, Director of the Center for Cultural and Educational Work of Kyrgyz Russian Slavic University Irina I. Malchenko said.

In the framework of the festival students and pupils from schools of Bishkek will also present popular works of Russian poetry and their translations into the Kyrgyz language.

At the end of the festival the best creative teams and solo performers will be awarded with prizes.

It remains to be added that The I Congress-Exhibition “Russian Word in the Dialogue of Russian and Kyrgyz Cultures” will be realized on the base of Federal Targeted Program “The Russian Language” for 2016–2020.
