Ministry of Education and Science highly praised innovative potential of ASU

On November 8–9, 2017 delegation of Altai State University headed by Rector Sergey V. Zemlyukov took an active part in Developing Human Capital exhibition, which was carried out in the framework of The XIV Forum of Trans-Regional Cooperation between Russia and Kazakhstan in Chelyabinsk. ASU presented “University as a Driver for Integration of Russia and Kazakhstan” stand. The stand reflected achievements of Altai State University in the area of economic and educational cooperation with Kazakhstan. Samples of virus-free potatoes, as well as virus-free seedlings of strawberry and raspberry grown by Altai Center of Applied Biotechnology at ASU, probiotics for cattle produced by Prombiotech Engineering Center on the premises of the university, GMO testers developed by the employees of ASU Bioengineering Laboratory were presented at the stand.

On November 9, the exhibition was visited by Minister of Education and Science of the Russian Federation O.Yu. Vasilyeva. The minister spent about 15 minutes at the stand of Altai State University, which was much more than at the expositions of other higher education establishments. Olga Vasilyeva got acquainted with innovative products developed by scientists of Altai State University. The minister's special attention was paid to virus-free potatoes and virginiamycin, fodder probiotic for cattle-breeding farms. Director of Prombiotech Engineering Center S.V. Pospelov gave an exhaustive commentary on the properties of the drug and the experience of its use in the farms of Altai Krai. Innovative developments of Altai State University were highly appreciated by the head of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation.

Here, at the stand of Altai State University, a teleconference was held with Kazakh students studying at Altai State University. O.Yu. Vasilyeva wished them success in studying and strengthening friendly international relations between Russia and Kazakhstan.

On November 10, 2017 delegation of Altai State University returned to Barnaul.
