ASU lecturer conquered the highest point of South America

On January 21, 2018 Marina V. Tankova, senior lecturer of the Department of Recreational Geography, Tourism and Regional Marketing, climbed to the top of Aconcagua, which is the highest point of South America. The summit of Aconcagua is 6,962 meters high and is located in the Andean mountain system in Argentina.

The team of climbers consisted of representatives of Russia, Germany, Hungary and the United States. The group was accompanied by 3 guides. After several acclimatization exits only 5 participants out of 10, including Marina Tankova, managed to reach the top.

Altai State University congratulates Marina V. Tankova on such a success. Currently, we are waiting for her return home and a detailed report on the trip.
