Honorary graduate of the Faculty of Law Sergey Shubenkov was awarded the Order “For Merit to the Fatherland”

Honorary graduate of the Faculty of Law Sergey Shubenkov was awarded the Order “For Merit to the Fatherland” of 2nd degree.

The official state law database reported that world-famous athlete, 2015 world champion, three-time European champion, Honored Master of Sports of Russia Sergey Shubenkov was awarded the Order “For Merit to the Fatherland” of 2nd degree by the presidential decree for his merits in the development of physical culture and sport and long-term conscientious work.

Sergey graduated from the Faculty of Law of Altai State University and defended his graduate thesis on private law regulation of international air transportation in 2012. His life has seriously changed since then: he has become not just successful athlete, but world-famous media personality. However, Sergey does not suffer from the stardom disease. He is still easy-going and open, keeps in touch with his former groupmates and loves his alma mater. In 2015 Sergey Shubenkov entered the Gallery of Honor of Altai State University graduates.

Sergey Shubenkov is one of the strongest Russian athletes of the recent years. He became world champion in the men's 110 m hurdles in 2015 in Beijing. In 2017 he took the second place at the World Cup in London. In addition, in September 2017, Sergey won the men's 110 m hurdles final of the Diamond League. At the end of the season, he was recognized as the best track and field athlete among men by the All-Russian Athletics Federation.
