Celebration week at Altai State University comes to a close

On May 24, week dedicated to the celebrations of the university’s 46th anniversary ended with a concert program with the participation of creative associations of the Center for Creativity and Leisure of Students and Employees of Altai State University. The event was held at the University Courtyard.

Barnaul students, teachers and citizens attended the event. The guests began to gather long before the concert began at 5 pm. On behalf of the university administration, the audience congratulated the Acting First Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Evgeni Shvakov.

“ASU had only 300 students at the start, and 46 years later there are 14 thousand people studying here. To date, 74 thousand people graduated from Altai State University. And they are all proud of their alma mater! 46 years is a very small story, but it is full of victories and achievements. They allowed ASU to become one of the leading universities of the country, one of the 33 flagship universities of Russia,” Evgeni Shvakov said.

The concert was opened by the anthem of all students of the world, Gaudeamus, which was performed by the academic choir of Altai State University. The evening continued with performances by various dance ensembles and music groups turning the University Courtyard into a venue for an open air party.

In the final part of the meeting, Evgeni Shvakov presented awards to the best university students for success in public, cultural, creative, sports and educational activities. In addition, the winners of the university competitions were announced and the best group and student of Altai State University were chosen.
