Students speak out against smoking

In late April, on the territory of Altai State University, students from the Department of Public Relations and Advertising of the Faculty of Mass Communications, Philology and Political Science conducted a campaign "Smoking is Harmful to health".

The organizers, a group of third-year students, decided to combine informing students about the dangers of addiction and the fight against smoking at the university. During the campaign, the volunteers told smokers about the effect of tobacco smoke on the body and offered to give up addiction to tobacco with even greater benefit – exchange their cigarettes for a plastic card of the Altaprint operational printing house, which made it possible to get a certain discount when ordering the corresponding services.

Although this move became very effective in the context of upcoming exams, many smokers showed interest in the action on their own. According to one of the organizers of the event, they did not expect such a response from smoking students who not only willingly exchanged tobacco products, but also were interested in the objectives of the event.

As a result of the campaign, the participants in a short period of time collected more than a hundred cigarettes from the students. The organizers do not plan to dwell on this modest achievement – at the moment they are developing a whole range of activities aimed at promoting a healthy lifestyle among university students.
