One of the final events of the first semester of the 2019–2020 academic year at the Preparatory Department of Russian as Foreign Language was the traditional visit of the Regional Library by foreign students. Foreign students have already mastered the Russian language a little and have prepared to obtain a new status and become readers of the main library in Altai Krai.

Library staff prepared a guided tour, introduced foreign students to the halls and exhibits, and gave a lecture on the history of one of the largest libraries in Siberia. In the hall of foreign literature, students and lecturers listened to the voices of the great Russian poets reading their works.

Challenging quiz and intellectual game entertained all participants of the event. The visit to the cultural center of Barnaul ended with the procedure of subscribing to the library. Now there are 23 new readers from China, Mongolia, France, Portugal, Ecuador, Laos, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Nigeria and Somalia.

The Preparatory Department of Altai State University instills interest and love for the Russian language and culture in its foreign students, while the great and powerful Russian language strengthens its position in the world.
