ASU enters top 30 universities of Russia in the ranking of Top Universities by Google Scholar Citations

Altai State University took the 30th place among Russian universities in the global citation ranking Webometrics Transparent Ranking: Top Universities by Google Scholar Citations.

The flagship university of Altai Krai outperformed 7 universities participating in the project of increasing international competitiveness 5–100.

Despite the relatively young age and size by world standards, ASU was able to show almost 26 thousand citations in the ranking and was located between St. Petersburg State Electrotechnical University and Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology.

Among the universities of the Siberian Federal District, ASU confidently took the 5th place, being second only to universities of the project 5–100: Novosibirsk State University, Tomsk Polytechnic University, Tomsk State University and Siberian Federal University.

In total, the ranking estimated 4410 leading universities in the world, including 92 Russian universities. Altai State University took the 1946th place in the world list, which is 813 positions higher than the previous result.

The ranking has been published since 2015, the methodology is based on the counting of authors' citations in the Google Scholar system.
