ASU graduate took the first place at IPC Athletics World Championship

IPC Athletics World Championship among the sportsmen with mobility or intellectual disabilities and visually impaired is held in Doha, Qatar. Two ASU students have taken part in the Championship, which the University is very proud of.

Egor Sharov has taken the first place in men’s 800m T13 final crossing the line in 1:53.16. Faculty of Geography student Andrey Kuzmin has come in fourth with the result of 11.22 in men’s 100m T12 final.

IPC Athletics World Championship in Doha is the 7th in succession. A record number of sportsmen and countries participate in the competition – 1,233 and 97 respectively. The most numerous team is the Chinese one, it consists of 79 sportsmen. Russia and the United States are represented by the teams of 76. 212 medal sets will be awarded within 11 tournament days.
