ASU postgraduate student developed a program for detection of frauds with smart cards

1st year postgraduate student of ASU Faculty of Physics and Technology Alexander A. Kapitanov is going to present the software product of his development for detections of frauds with bank and other kinds of cards at the Rosneft All-Russian Competition for Young Specialists.

Alexander’s development has already won a diploma for the 2nd place at the 9th Interregional Scientific and Technical Conference for Young Specialists, which was also held by Rosneft Company.

At the conference ASU postgraduate student delivered his report dedicated to the usage of modern technologies of information security aids and protection from frauds with bank and other kinds of smart cards.

“This work allows to detect the cases of smart cards illegal use with the help of projective methods of multivariate analysis. No additional equipment is needed,” explained the developer. “I graduated from ASU Faculty of Physics and Technology, majoring in Information Security. When I was at my 5th year, I was successfully interviewed at Rosneft Company. Since then I have already received my Master’s Degree and continue to study at the classical university’s postgraduate course. The education at Altai State University provided me with a solid background for my further realization in career. I still use the knowledge I have received.”

It remains to be added that the development of Alexander Kapitanov has already attracted interest of Altai branch of Rosneft Company and Russian Ministry for Internal Affairs for Altai Krai.
