International Forum of Asian Youth Leaders “Altai-Asia 2016”

International Forum of Asian Youth Leaders “Altai-Asia 2016” will take place at Altai State University on 20–24 September 2016.

Federal Agency Rossotrudnichestvo has been supervising government program “Generation Next” since 2011.

The main objectives of the program are:

  • to organize short study trips to Russia for foreign young politicians, scientists, businessmen and social activists (25–35 years old) for them to get familiar with Russian political, social, economic, scientific, educational and cultural life;
  • to develop cooperation between the Russian Federation and countries represented by youth leaders.

The program consists of several parts: business part that includes the meetings with governmental and municipal authorities, youth and social associations; cultural and excursion program; key event – central thematic events of different formats (summit, conference, specialized school, etc.).

Altai State University has already taken part in “Generation Next” program for two times (in 2013 and 2015) and gained vast experience in organization of such events. In 2015 ASU was awarded a certificate of “Generation Next” program partner for active participation in its realization.

On 20–24 September 2016 Altai State University will host the International Forum of Asian Youth Leaders “Altai-Asia 2016” for the third time. It will be a unique communication site, which will unite youth representatives of Asian countries specializing in social, political, humanitarian, cultural and educational spheres. The forum organizers will include Asian Universities Association and Asian Expert-Analytical Center of Ethnology and International Educational Cooperation. This international event at Altai State University is going to bring together about 40 young researchers from Japan, Laos, India, Pakistan, China, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Mongolia, and Kyrgyzstan.

The forum participants will discuss the relevant issues concerning cooperation in science and education, international academic mobility of students and young scientists, intercultural communication, ecological problems, role of the Russian language in modern science and education and so on. Special attention at the discussion sites will be paid to preservation, research and popularization of historical, ethnographical, linguistic, cultural and biological heritage of Altai and Asian countries.

In the course of the event participants will share the best practices in joint projects realization, create the basis for development and strengthening of Asian universities collaboration, discuss the opportunities for further international events organization. The experts of ASU Asian Expert-Analytical Center of Ethnology and International Educational Cooperation will take part in the forum work.
