ASU biologists showed the wilderness of Altai to National Geographic

Altai State Nature Biosphere Reserve has recently been visited by representatives of National Geographic Russia and French cosmetics company Clarins.

President of cosmetics company Christian Courtin-Clarins, editor-in-chief of National Geographic Russia journal Andrey Palamarchuk, CEO of Clarins Russia Edgar Shabanov and others came to Altai in order to become familiar with the region, to study the prospects for mutually beneficial cooperation. The visit to the reserve was mainly aimed at the development of ecotourism, creation of photo-report and short film about Altai reserved nature.

Employee of ASU South-Siberian Botanic Garden, Candidate of Biology, Assistant Professor of the Department of Physical and Chemical Biology and Biotechnology Sergey Smirnov showed the flora of the reserve to the guests and gave them a tour of Lake Teletskoye and its main sights.

At the end of the excursion the participants discussed the further plans for communication and collaboration, agreed to prepare joint materials for the new issues of National Geographic Russia.
