ASU will hold the Knowledge Day in its inner court

Tomorrow, 1 September, Russia celebrates the Knowledge Day. It is the day when the school and academic year officially starts in Russia. It is a special day for Altai State University. Moreover, the inner court of ASU, which is located between campuses L and M, has recently been renovated. Faculty of Art students prepared a special project and made a drawing of the Muses of Ancient Greece there, so the holiday will be held in a new site.

The celebration starts at 9 am with delegations of the faculties and departments lining up in front of campus M of Altai State University. ASU students will hold the flags and transparencies and will come into the inner court to the music. They will pass through the Gate of Knowledge, which has been installed by the beginning of the new academic year.

“We organize such a grand-scale faculties parade for the first time. Every educational department of Altai State University will be present there. The celebration participants will meet the founder of the oldest Russian university – Moscow State University – Mikhail V. Lomonosov. Further, the students and lecturers of ASU will hear congratulations from the Rector and professors of the university, Altai and Barnaul government officials, members of ASU Guardian Board and Council of ASU Graduates. The best student will present a symbolic key to the knowledge to the best prospective student; all the students of the university will get to see a giant student ID. During the celebration everyone will have a chance to take pictures in the special photo zone and leave a palm print on a big board,” said director of ASU Center for Student Creativity and Leisure Roman V. Pryadukha.

“We are planning to install a big complex of modern stage equipment with good sound and light in the university court by the Knowledge Day and test it,” noted head of the Department of Extracurricular and Educational Work Anton A. Tselevitch.

Beside classical academic song Gaudeamus performed by ASU Youth Academic Choir, the audience will also hear the hymn to Altai composed by the Honoured Artists of Russia Irina Gribulina. The morning celebration be completed with a musical program “Hymn to ASU”, which will be presented by its author, ASU graduate Alexander Volokitin.
