ASU hosted the official opening of International Forum of Asian Youth Leaders

International Forum of Asian Youth Leaders “Altai-Asia 2016” has started today at Altai State University. Representatives of 10 foreign countries take part in the event.

There are more than 40 guests at the event with young lecturers and scientists from schools and universities of Japan, China, India, Pakistan, Laos, Mongolia, Armenia, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan among them.

The key topic of International Forum of Asian Youth Leaders “Altai-Asia 2016” will be in agreement with Educational Forum “Altai-Asia 2016” subject matter – best education practices of Asian countries. Besides that, the participants of the youth forum will talk about multilateral cooperation development, academic mobility, ASU research directions and so on.

““Altai-Asia” project, which is organized on the premises of Altai State University, has once again brought together active, bright and energetic young people from Asian countries in Altai Krai. Great number of participants allows discussing the most relevant issues of education and science, establish cultural relations between representatives of Asian youth. Youth contacts play an important part in the development of solid partner relationship between countries, while informal socializing at such forums creates strong foundation for further international cooperation based on friendship and mutual respect. I believe that this forum, which additionally has a very intensive program, will be a place for establishing new friendly and partner relations and implementing new interesting projects,” noted attache of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation in Barnaul Konstantin N. Dudarev.

The efficiency of international forums such as “Altai-Asia” was confirmed by participants from Kyrgyzstan, who have come to Altai State University for the second time.

“Our aim is to establish new contacts in the area of international collaboration. In June 2016 we participated in the II Meeting of Asian Universities Association and managed to make a lot of useful contacts, which further turned into fruitful cooperation. In particular, we signed a cooperation agreement with our Chinese colleagues. In short, official and unofficial part of the forum program helped us to extend the list of our university’s international partners,” said head of the Department of International Relations at B.N. Yeltsin Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University Julia Kalyuzhnaya.

In the framework of the forum program the youth leaders of Asian countries are supposed to meet with representatives of Altai Krai Administration, authorities of Altai State University and ASU Student League. After lunch the participants are going to attend seminars on history, culture and biological diversity of the Great Altai, visit the Museum of Altai Archaeology and Ethnography and go on an excursion to the South-Siberian Botanic Garden and falcon nursery “Altai Falcon”.
