ASU Rector takes part in Russian-Iranian Forum in Tehran

Today, 20 October 2016, the 2nd Rectors’ Forum for Top Iranian and Russian Universities has started working.

Russia is represented by delegations of 20 leading universities headed by Chairman of Russian Rectors Council, Rector of M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University V.A. Sadovnichy. Russian delegations have come to Tehran on 19 October, awaited by Iranian delegations and 13 rectors of Iranian universities.

Organization Committee member, Rector’s Councilor at the University of Tehran Syed Ahmadrez Hezri noted:

“Russian-Iranian Summit will encourage strengthening of cooperation in science between the two countries. The summit hosting 20 rectors of Russian universities is the best place for scientific achievements exchange!”

Minister of Science, Research and Technology of Iran Mohammad Farhadi, Rector of the University of Tehran Mahmoud Nili Ahmadabadi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Russian Federation Mehdi Sanai and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Islamic Republic of Iran Levan S. Dzhagaryan have taken part in the opening ceremony of the forum.

Rector of Altai State University, Vice-President of Asian Universities Association S.V. Zemlyukov takes part in the forum on the invitation of V.A. Sadovnichy. Sergey V. Zemlyukov acts as a moderator of the first plenary roundtable called “Scientific and Educational Collaboration between Universities and Competitiveness Improvement”. Moreover, ASU Rector is to deliver a report titled “Networking Cooperation of Central Asian Universities: Experience, Problems and Opportunities”. The roundtable program involves the speeches given by rectors of 4 different universities.

There are two more roundtables working at the forum: “Experience in University Management and Problems of Staff Training for Innovative Economy” and “The Role of Science Parks in Universities’ Development”. At the end of the event the agreements for cooperation between the universities of Russia and Iran are to be signed.

The summit organizers believe that the experience in organizational work and scientific and educational collaboration accumulated by Altai State University will come in useful in the course of cooperation with the universities of Iran.
