ASU was ranked among top 50 Russian universities in Webometrics Top Universities by Google Scholar Citations

Only 70 Russian universities out of 1,350 having been analyzed by Webometrics could join the ranking. Altai State University took the 35th position among Russian universities and the 3,410th position among all world’s universities participating in the ranking.

Moreover, ASU managed to outdo a number of Russian leading higher education institutions, such as Tomsk State University of Control Systems and Radioelectronics (3,639), Novosibirsk State Technical University (3,671), Saint Petersburg State Polytechnic University (3,747), Bauman Moscow State Technical University (3,822), Perm State University (4,254), Nizhny Novgorod State University (4,439) and Tyumen State University (4,838).

Webometrics Top Universities by Google Scholar Citations assesses 5,000 official profiles of universities from all over the world and over a million of scholar’s individual profiles in GSC affiliated with particular universities. University's position in the ranking is determined by analysis of citation of its top 10 authors in Google Scholar.

Ranking methodology is transparent to the utmost. It follows the global trends in science and education and is designed to be an objective indicator for the quality of research conducted by the university.

The results of Webometrics Top Universities by Google Scholar Citations will be used to measure the openness indicator of the Webometrics Ranking Web of Universities 2017.

The achieved results clearly demonstrate the dynamic development of Altai State University and better recognition in the international academic community.
