Young people from 9 countries will participate in The III Asian Student Forum “Altai-Asia – 2017”

The III Asian Student Forum “Altai-Asia – 2017” starts tomorrow. It will be held on 14–18 September 2017 at Altai State University. The forum will host representatives of 9 world’s countries.

The forum will be organized under the auspices of the Association of Asian Universities in the framework of ASU Student Associations Development Program for 2017 and under the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, Federal Agency for Youth Affairs, National Youth Council of Russia, Russian Union of Student Organizations, and ASU Asian Expert-Analytical Center of Ethnology and International Educational Cooperation.

“Over 300 applications have been submitted to the forum, and now we are forming an official list of participants, which will include about 250 people,” representative of organization committee, Head of the Department for Extracurricular and Educational Work Anton A. Tselevich noted. “The main part of the forum will be held on the premises of Altai State University, while an off-site part will be carried out at Aya Hotel. We are preparing a very intensive program, which will consist of 7 platforms comprising almost all sides of young people’s life. One of the directions is a competition of student social projects dedicated to the forthcoming XIX World Festival of Youth and Students in Sochi. With the concurrence of the festival’s directors, competition winners will receive an invitation to the event and will go to Sochi.”

The guests of the forum will discuss issues of intercultural dialogue and international collaboration between young people in Asia, an initiative to create Youth Council under the Association of Asian Universities, as well as prospects for realization of joint networking youth projects of association.

The forum program will also include Festival of National Cultures, exhibitions dedicated to Asian peoples’ culture and history, lectures on ecology, and excursions to the Altai Mountains.
