Professor Johnston presents report on early cancer detection at ASU

On 15 September 2017 Altai State University hosts international seminar of Russian-American Anti-Cancer Center on molecular methods of diagnostic and therapy of human diseases.

The seminar is attended by scientists from Saint-Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod, Chelyabinsk, Novosibirsk.

The leading speakers include Chief Physician of Altai Regional Oncologic Dispensary, Honoured Doctor of Russian Federation, Head of the Department of Oncology of Altai State Medical University, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Alexander F. Lazarev; Director of Altai Regional Pulmonology Center, Honoured Science Worker of the Russian Federation, Russian Academy of Sciences corresponding member, Professor Yakov N. Shoyhet; famous American scientist, specialist in early immune diagnostic and prevention of cancer, immune oncologist from Arizona State University (USA), Professor Stephen Johnston; Dean of the Faculty of Biology at Chelyabinsk State University, Doctor of Medicine, Professor Alexandra L. Burmistrova; etc.

In particular, Alexander F. Lazarev will tell the audience about oncological therapy in Altai Krai, Yakov N. Shoyhet will touch upon problems and prospects for early diagnostic of malignant tumors, Professor Johnston will deliver a report on modern methods of early cancer detection, while Alexandra L. Burmistrova will present results of immunosignature method application for diagnostic of autism spectrum disorders.

“The main goal of our seminar is to get acquainted with interesting developments, authors of which are scientists from all over Russia, and tell interested researchers about our work in this area. We hope that the seminar will help participants organize useful ties and find ways for further collaboration,” Executive Director of Russian-American Anti-Cancer Center, Candidate of Biology Andrey I. Shapoval specified.

The conference has been organized by Altai State University, Altai Branch of N.N. Blokhin Russian Cancer Research Center, Altai State Medical University, and Arizona State University.
