ASU concluded 5 contracts with Kyrgyz universities during the I Forum of Rectors of Russia and Kyrgyzstan

The delegation of Altai State University returned from Bishkek, where on March 27 the I Forum of Rectors of Higher Education Institutions of Kyrgyzstan and Russia “Development of Science and Education is an Investment in the Future”, timed to coincide with the visit of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir V. Putin to the Kyrgyz Republic.

In the framework of the visit of V.V. Putin to Kyrgyzstan in Bishkek, a number of activities aimed at strengthening partnerships between countries in the field of culture, education, business, trade cooperation took place. The I Forum of Rectors of Russian and Kyrgyz Universities, which was held at the Ala Archa state residence in Bishkek, was designed to take interstate cooperation in the educational sphere to a new level. From the Russian side, the head of the Presidential Office for Interregional and Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries V.A. Chernov, Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation M.M. Kotyukov, President of the Russian Union of Rectors, Rector of M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University V.A. Sadovnichy, Head of the Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States, Compatriots Living Abroad and International Humanitarian Cooperation E.V. Mitrofanova, rectors of 40 Russian universities.

Altai State University was represented by President of the university, Doctor of Law, Professor S.V. Zemlyukov, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Design, Professor L.I. Nekhvyadovich and Doctor of History, Professor of the Department of Oriental Studies Yu.A. Lysenko.

President of ASU made a presentation on the topic “Cooperation of Altai State University and the universities of Kyrgyzstan as a resource for integration” at the plenary part of the forum. ASU is a recognized leader in the field of cooperation with universities of the Kyrgyz Republic. Today, the flagship university of Altai Krai has 16 partner universities in Kyrgyzstan, actively cooperates with the Muras State Historical and Cultural Heritage Foundation of the People of Kyrgyzstan, the Institute of History and Cultural Heritage of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Sulayman-Too National Historical and Architectural Museum, etc. More than 100 citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic study at ASU, including 31 graduate and postgraduate students.

In his report S.V. Zemlyukov focused on such key areas of interaction between ASU and Kyrgyz universities, such as academic exchanges and network educational cooperation, support for the Russian language as the basis for the dialogue of cultures in the Eurasian space, studying the historical and cultural heritage of the peoples of the Altai language family, expert and analytical support and maintenance of integration, international youth cooperation. The report aroused great interest among the forum participants. In particular, it was decided to support this experience of ASU, as the publication within the Association of Asian Universities of the international scientific journal “Society and Public Safety” (“Society and Security Insights”), integrating the work of experts in the field of state and municipal management, as well as the initiative to create the center of interuniversity research and education center of altaism with the participation of universities of the Big Altai, Kyrgyzstan and other leading world centers of Turkology and altaism.

“We are ready to make the necessary efforts to create such a center and present it at the international forum of the Altaic scholars “The Turkic-Mongolian World of the Great Altai: Historical and Cultural Heritage and Modernity”, which is planned to be held in September 2019 in Altai!” said the President of Altai State University.

After the plenary session, the work of the thematic sessions started. The President of ASU moderated the session “The Russian language as the basis of the scientific and educational integration of Russia and Kyrgyzstan”, in which L.I. Nekhvyadovich and Yu.A. Lysenko presented their reports on scientific and educational cooperation of Altai State University with universities and schools of Kyrgyzstan.

The forum ended with signing of a number of agreements between Russian and Kyrgyz universities. Altai State University concluded contracts with five leading universities of the Kyrgyz Republic at once: Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University, J. Balasagyn Kyrgyz National University, N. Isanov Kirgiz State University of Construction, Transport and Architecture, K. Karasaev Bishkek Humanitarian University and Osh State University. The projects stipulated in the agreements in the field of education, science, academic exchanges and cultural interaction will be implemented in the near future.
