On November 28, an expert commission of the National Center for Professional and Public Accreditation, which organized an examination of the educational programs of the International Institute of Economics, Management and Informational Systems, completed its work at Altai State University.

The international professional and public accreditation of the following educational programs was conducted: Economics, Management and Economic Security.

The external expert commission, which included representatives of the university and professional communities, as well as foreign experts, got acquainted with the infrastructure of Altai State University, met with the heads of graduate departments, students and graduates. Summing up the results of the three-day work, the experts expressed their wishes and comments, pointed to the positive aspects of educational programs and advised to pay attention to some shortcomings. In general, they noted that the name of Altai State University had already become a brand, thanks to which ASU managed to stand out from other Russian universities.

“Altai State University pursues a policy targeted at the development of international activities, because in the modern world, an actively developing university needs to be visible on the world educational map in order for students from other countries to pay attention to it,” Altai State University Rector of Altai State University Sergey N. Bocharov said. “At present, 1,400 foreign students from Central Asia study at Altai State University. We want to attract even more students from different countries, especially from China. We understand that this is a complex systematic work related to the modernization of educational programs, this is the work of actively introducing educational programs in a foreign language, which places high demands on the language training of lecturers. And we are ready to move in this direction, taking a number of certain steps.”

Sergey N. Bocharov thanked the commission members for a thoughtful examination and noted that the comments voiced by the experts were largely fair and the university had already been actively working on them: a digital university development program had been implemented, cooperation with employers had been strengthened, international relations and collaborations expanded.

The final meeting with the expert commission of the National Center for Professional and Public Accreditation ended with the presentation of the certificate on passing the international external examination of educational programs to the Director of the Institute Stepan I. Mezhov.
