On December 17, Altai News program showed a video about the scientific-practical seminar held at Altai State University that was dedicated to the results of the first year of the implementation of the Strategic Project “Sustainable Development of Altai in the Cross-Border Space”.

Altai, Smolensk and Soviet districts became participants in a pilot strategic project on sustainable development of the territories of our region. Strategies for socio-economic development for the districts were developed by representatives of these municipalities and scientists of Altai State University. Among them are economists, geographers, and experts in the field of tourism and agriculture.

By the way, the last two directions have become priority for the development model of Sovetsky district. Within the framework of the strategic project, which is designed until 2035, it is possible to create a tourist cluster in the territory of three pilot districts. This will require attracting investment. And the result will be the development of infrastructure in these areas, as well as improving the living standards of the population.

Alexander Polkovnikov, head of Soviet district:

"We use science and economic calculations, where the potential of the district and neighboring regions is involved. This is a necessary moment, which, I believe, we must implement."
