ASU scientist’s research work aimed at overcoming Ebola hemorrhagic fever virus won the scholarship of the President of the Russian Federation

Associate Professor of the Department of Organic Chemistry of the Altai State University Faculty of Chemistry, Ph.D. in biology Dmitri Shcherbakov joined the number of winners of the 2015-2017 scholarship of the President of the Russian Federation for young scientists and graduate students. 

ASU lecturer work titled "Search of antibodies neutralizing Ebola hemorrhagic fever virus" was awarded by the Council for Grants of the President of the Russian Federation in the category "Medical technology, diagnostic equipment, medicines."

«The essence of my work is to create a drug that can overcome Ebola hemorrhagic fever virus. Despite the fact that for the Altai State University the subject sounds a bit exotic, ASU students of chemical faculty took part in research in this area», said Dmitri.  «These works were carried out on the main department of chemical Faculty of the Altai State University, which is located in the subdivision of Bioengineering of the State Research Center of Virology and Biotechnology "Vector" naukograd Koltsovo».

It is expected that students of ASU chemical faculty will be actively involved in the implementation of the work plan on the subject that received a scholarship of the President of the Russian Federation.
