6 February 2019 Department of Information and Media Communications
On February 4, the opening of “Researcher Connect” training seminar for postgraduate students and young scientists, organized by the National Fund for Personnel Training, took place at Altai State University.

Researcher connect is a training course in English for scholars, graduate students, academic writing center managers, representatives of the international department and other young professionals to develop communication skills needed in the innovation life cycle – from receiving grants, establishing international partnerships to successful publications and speeches on English, including the use of modern online tools to increase the visibility and citation of the work of the scientists and their organizations.

The seminar organized at ASU is designed for three days of classes, most of which will be practical. In particular, within the framework of the seminar, its participants enhance their professional competence in the field of writing and correct formulation of ideas and projects in English, with a view to further publication in high-ranking international journals.

“Research at Altai State University is carried out at a very high level, which is why we decided to hold a seminar in Altai Krai on the premises of the flagship university of the region,” Nargisa Valamat-Zade, director of the training center, head of international and network programs of the National Fund for Personnel Training, explained. “Over the past six months, our Fund has conducted similar seminars in five regions of the country. On the basis of partner universities in Moscow and Tver Oblast, and in three flagship universities: Don State Technical University (Rostov-on-Don), Tyumen Industrial University (Tyumen Region), Ufa Oil and Gas University (Republic of Bashkortostan). At the beginning of 2018, we also conducted a training seminar at Vladimir State University. And everywhere we received positive feedback, because the seminar has the most practical training format.”

Lucy Armitage spoke at the training seminar at ASU. She is an independent expert in communications, a consultant, a trainer who for several years worked as a communications consultant and trainer at Dialogue Matters, where she developed the organization's expertise in creating collaborations both at the national and international levels. Lucy Armitage has many years of experience in developing and delivering courses for scientists and researchers in universities, research institutes in the UK and abroad.

It remains to be added that the "Researcher connect" seminar, implemented with the support of the British Embassy, is held at ASU until February 6.
