13 February 2019 Faculty of Geography
The year 2019 of the Russian history will definitely be highlighted: the opening of the XXIX Winter Universiade 2019 in Krasnoyarsk will take place in March. In Russia, this large-scale event will be held for the first time.

At the moment, preparation for the Universiade is in full swing, and the first test events have taken place recently. Denis Denisov, a 2nd year student of the Faculty of Geography of Altai State University majoring in Tourism, passed the selection of volunteers and came to Krasnoyarsk together with other students to help organize the event.

The program involved 11 busy days in clear frosty weather, new people and important work. Here, as never before, Denis used the knowledge of the English language, because he had to work with foreign athletes. During the test competitions, he managed to make friends with the players of the Norwegian team, received branded warm clothes and added a collection of badges on his backpack. Participation in such events brings an invaluable experience and impressions that will last a lifetime.

Very soon, Denis will go to the Universiade, which will be held from 2 to 12 March this year. The volunteers will be engaged in days of preparation and fruitful work. We can only wish them good luck and follow the news of the sport a little more attentively than before.
