ASU takes part in the General Assembly Meeting of the Association of Higher Educational Institutions of Russia and Japan

On May 20, 2018, the first meeting of the General Assembly of Rectors of Russian and Japanese Universities was held, in which Vice-Rector for International Affairs Development Roman Raikin and student of the Faculty of Biology Natalia Stolyar took part.

The meeting discussed the issue of creating a working group within the Association of Higher Educational Institutions of Russia and Japan to study the impact of digitization on education and social and psychological adaptation of a person to the new reality.

The participants supported the idea of Professor Yamada, President of Tokai University, to establish a Russian-Japanese Student Council under the auspices of the Association of Higher Educational Institutions of Russia and Japan. The Russian Rectors Union will coordinate the work of the council on the Russian side.

Within the framework of the assembly meeting, a round table on the issues of academic exchange, where Roman Raikin presented the report on successful experience of Altai State University in cooperation with Japanese universities, was held.

Japanese-Russian Forums of Rectors have been carried out since 2009. The Association of Higher Educational Institutions of Russia and Japan was established in 2017. The foundation agreement was signed by the President of the Russian Rectors Union V.A. Sadovnichy and President of Tohoku University S. Satomi in the presence of the President of the Russian Federation V.V. Putin and Prime Minister of Japan S. Abe. Within the framework of the VII Japanese-Russian Forum of Rectors, the 1st General Assembly of the Association took place, in which more than 40 rectors of the leading universities of Russia and Japan took part.
