One day is left before the opening of the Asian Student Forum under the auspices of the Association of Asian Universities. The event will be held at Altai State University.

On October 9, representatives of more than 40 higher educational institutions from four Central Asian countries – Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Russia will gather at the grand opening of the international event.

The topic of this year's forum, organized by the Association of Asian Universities and with the support of a grant from the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs, provided on the basis of the All-Russian Competition of Youth Projects among Higher Education Organizations, will be the pathway of international youth cooperation.

146 applications have been submitted for participation in the forum. All in all, 100 projects of youth leaders and student associations from 4 countries were selected to compete in three areas – Science and Education of the Future, Student Self-Government, Intercultural Dialogue.

According to the organizers, the main purpose of the forum is to consolidate the youth leaders of the Asian countries to implement a joint international youth policy. The program of the forum will include a discussion of the international youth cooperation development in the Asian region, competitive selection of network youth projects and the establishment of the development strategy of the Youth Council under the Association of Asian Universities on the basis of the projects. What is more, this year the forum will host not only the participants of the Association of Asian Universities, but also the representatives of universities not included in the organization. This indicates the relevance and importance of international youth cooperation for the academic community.

In addition to the main program, the forum will hold creative events aimed at showing the national culture of the participating countries, exhibitions of the historical and cultural heritage of the peoples of the Asian region, as well as a rich environmental education program with a trip to Altai Mountains.

The opening ceremony of the Asian Student Forum will be held on October 9 at Altai State University.
