Altai State University becomes a center for studying human health problems for two days

On November 22, Altai State University hosted the opening of the International Scientific and Practical Conference with Online Participation “Psychological, Pedagogical and Biomedical Problems of Human Health”.

The conference, which received grant support from the Russian Foundation for Basic Research, presented fundamental studies of leading Russian and foreign universities on health assessment, studying the influence of various factors on human health, developing preventive treatment, health events and educational programs.

“Altai State University has become a venue for a multidisciplinary forum in the field of the entire spectrum of sciences and disciplines related to human health for the first time. Nevertheless, our university has long been engaged in various aspects of research in this area. Our main goal is to integrate all areas of research and, together with the constant and future partners of ASU, generate new joint projects. Moreover, Altai Krai is a center of medicinal plant growing, a leader in ecological and health tourism in our country,” Vice-Rector for International Affairs Development at Altai State University Roman I. Raikin emphasized.

Opening the conference, the Deputy Minister of Health in Altai Krai Sergey V. Nasonov noted that the Government of the Russian Federation paid great attention to increasing the expected duration of a healthy life for all residents of the country, as well as shaping of the healthy society.

“The topics discussed at our conference are very important, because today, despite the many advantages of modern life, there are problems such as, for example, lack of physical activity. Today, each of us needs to rethink how important it is to be in constant motion, to monitor our diet and other factors affecting human health. Therefore, the issues considered at the conference are extremely relevant,” Sergey V. Nasonov said.

On November 22, plenary sessions were held, in which representatives of leading universities and research institutes from Australia, Armenia, Bulgaria, Belarus, Hungary, Poland, France, Kazakhstan and other countries communicated with Altai State University in the online mode.

On Saturday, November 23, the conference continued its work in 7 sections, where reports were presented telling about various studies in the field of human health, increasing the functional reserves of the population, health support for human educational and physical activity at different stages of life, psychosocial risk factors and others.
