ASU has become the best regional classical university of Russia for research
All in all, the ranking comprised 238 Russian universities including 34 higher education establishments of Siberian Federal District. Other universities of Altai Krai have performed worse and begin with 228th position. Altai State University confirmed the 2nd place among the best regional classical universities of Russia without federal or national research status. The same fact was approved by British agency QS and international agency Expert RA.
Among the educational organizations of Siberia ASU took the 5th position only giving place to Novosibirsk State University, Tomsk State University, Tomsk Polytechnic University and Siberian Federal University.
The estimation included the assessment of the following factors: university’s educational programs for researchers; university’s contribution to country’s academic elite formation; level of high-performance computing and mathematical modeling; scientific productivity of academic staff; citation of the articles published by academic staff in journals listed in Scopus; amount of financing allocated to research and technological development in 2015.
