AltSU expands cooperation with Tajikistan

Teachers of Altai State University continue to work with foreign applicants from Central Asian countries. So, in Tajikistan alone in January 2022, about 700 school graduates met with representatives of the university, 350 of whom intend to come to study in Russia in 2022, which will allow for a qualitative selection among talented students.

The result of the career guidance work in Tajikistan was the signing of a cooperation agreement with Khujand State University named after Academician Bobojon Gafurov. This further expands the partnership network of Altai State University in Asia and opens up new opportunities for attracting graduates from Tajik universities to study in master's programs in Russia.

According to the admission committee, foreign applicants are interested in IT specialties, natural sciences such as chemistry and biology, and humanitarian educational programs - linguistics, design, and advertising.

“Today Altai State University is becoming one of the most attractive universities in Russia for applicants from Asian countries. Firstly, this is due to a wide network of representative centers and partnership programs, which the university only increases every year. Secondly, this is the number and variety of educational programs of AltSU, which allows mastering advanced specialties in various fields and become competitive in the labor market. Also, this, of course, is the possibility to receive state-funded places. 

In 2022, Altai State University increased the number of state-funded places to 2714, that is, everyone has the opportunity to study for free.

Finally, the largest student campus in Siberia, Univer City, which provides accommodation for foreign students in comfortable conditions near the academic buildings of the university,” explained Olga Shunina, Head of the Department for Recruiting Foreign Applicants and Coordinating Support and Representative Centers of AltSU.

Work with gifted foreign students has already begun. At this stage, executive secretary of the admission committee, Ekaterina Romanova, personally takes part in the selection of candidates for training in Russian universities according to the quotas of the Ministry of Education and Science at the representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo in Dushanbe.
