The foreign guests visited laboratories and museums of ASU

On 23 June the delegates from foreign countries visited the laboratories and museums of Altai State University in the framework of the 2nd general meeting of Asian Universities Association and BRICS Youth Assembly Conference. The excursion participants included guests from Japan, China, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and other countries.

The comprehensive excursion program started on the 4th floor of ASU campus M, where the Asian Universities Association Museum is located. In the course of excursion specialist in educational and methodical work Rimma T. Elemanova told the guests about the most interesting material objects of national culture and art of Association member countries. The exposition included national costumes, decorative and applied arts objects and materials that characterize Association’s key activities.

After that the guests were invited to the most holy place of the university’s scientific area – ASU laboratories. There the delegates saw the innovative equipment of Scientific and Research Center for Biological Medicine and Russian-American Anticancer Center. The international events’ participants also got acquainted to the priority directions of laboratories’ work and their most significant achievements.

The visitors observed how the equipment worked at the Scientific and Production Laboratory for Multifunctional Hydroponic Installations for Original Virus-Free Seed Potato Growing with genuine interest.
At the end of the first part of the excursion, which took place at ASU campus M, the guests visited the Russian-Chinese Center.

The second part of the program was held in campus D. The participants visited the Honored Department “Kazakh Way and N. Nazarbaev”, which was formed in early October 2014. Further, the guests were transfered to the Center for Language and Culture of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. The lecturer of the Department of Russian as Foreign Language and Oriental Linguistics Mirzo K. Kendzhaev delivered an interesting report on foreign students’ busy life, active scientific work and literary translations of different writings, including translation of the poems by Robert I. Rozhdestvensky into classical Persian and Tajik.

The excursion ended in the Museum of Altai Archaeology and Ethnography, where the foreign delegated were shown an extensive collection of archaeological finds.

After the excursion program the participants of the 2nd general meeting of Asian Universities Association and BRICS Youth Assembly Conference proceeded to the forums program.
