Central Asian Youth Leadership Summit and International School for Young Asian Scientists are starting in ASU

Two major events, Central Asian Youth Leadership Summit and International School for Young Asian Scientists, are taking place in ASU from October 9 to October 14, 2015.

The events are initiated by National Youth Council of Russia within the framework of ASU Student Associations Development Program with the assistance of Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation; Federal Agency for affairs of CIS, compatriots living abroad and for international humanitarian cooperation (Rossotrudnichestvo); Federal Agency for Youth Affairs (Rosmolodezh); Asian Universities Association.

The participants include young scientists and specialists from Russia, Japan, South Korea, Sri-Lanka, Laos, India, Pakistan, China, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and other countries.

The Summit participants will experience a highly topical educational, debatable, presentational program and meet the respected experts from Russian governmental, business, noncommercial and educational organizations.

Grigoriy Petushkov, President of the National Youth Council of Russia, is delivering a speech at the Summit opening session. On October 8 the Summit participants are also meeting the Vice-Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Sergei Zheleznyak.

One of the major topics of the event is a Student Volunteer Program "The Russian Language Ambassadors in the World", which was launched on September 4 during the II Asian Student Forum "Kyrgyzstan-Asia - 2015" teleconference. The main aim of Russian Language Ambassador is to make the whole world fall in love with Russia. The program provides students with a great number of opportunities of internships in Russia and abroad.

As for the International School for Young Asian Scientists, its main objective is to create suitable conditions for joint international projects and programs implementation.

The School participants will be discussing the topical questions of the collaboration in the science and education, international academic mobility, intercultural communication, ecological problems, global role of the Russian language. During the event the students will be delivering their best experience in joint projects, which must help them to create the basis for the development and strengthening of Asian universities cooperation. The School speakers are the experts of ASU Asian Analytical Center of Ethnology and International Educational Cooperation.

The opening session of both events is taking place in ASU Assembly Hall (Dimitrova Street 66, Barnaul, Russia) at 9:30 a.m. on October 10.

Altai State University is one of the major scientific and educational centers of Asian Russia. ASU is collaborating with Asian countries actively and is among the best SCO Universities. In 2013 the Asian Universities Association was established, which is now a site for cooperation of about 36 universities from 8 Asian countries. A great part of the grand-scale international projects was held with the support of Rossotrudnichestvo.
