Over 100 young inventors from all over Altai Krai present robotics projects at ASU
This year, the competition dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding military engineer Mikhail Kalashnikov was attended by schoolchildren and students from 23 institutions of basic and additional education, robotics clubs in cities and districts of the region. The competition was held for the fifth time at the site of Altai State University, whose representatives are actively working with young inventors and researchers in addition to the traditional spring competitions.
“We are pleased to see so many young inventors as participants of the competition who submit original projects to the jury every year. And we, of course, wonder who eventually wins – artificial intelligence or natural intelligence. We hope that in two days of the competition participants will be able to show not only their inventive abilities, but also the ability to dream! Even if you have ideas that seem insane at first glance, do not be afraid to implement them. Perhaps it is your invention that will make a breakthrough in science in the future. Good luck to all of you!” Alexander A. Shaidurov, Head of the Research and Innovation Department of ASU, said when opening the competition.
51 teams that consisted of 110 young inventors participated in the competition. 20 teams consisted of elementary school children, 20 teams included middle school children, and 11 teams consisted of senior school children and college students.
“The geography of our competition is constantly expanding. This means that students and schoolchildren get more ambitious and inquisitive. There are more and more teachers who dedicate their whole life to their students, and are ready to go with them to any competitions and contests. I want to believe that young talents who came to the competition will be able to participate in the creation of new equipment, including in the field of biomedicine, at the site of our Center for Youth Innovative Creativity. It is to be recalled that Altai State University traditionally acted as an organizer of the competition in cooperation with the Regional Center for Information and Technical Work and “Eureka” Center for Youth Innovative Creativity. The event was supported by the Ministry of Education and Science of Altai Krai.
