What are the features of promoting fashion brands in Russia and what is the uniqueness of Russian designers? What is more important in the fashion industry - relationships, talent or creativity, and what qualities should a fashion marketing expert have? All of these issues were discussed during the first meetup, held in the concert hall of Altai State University on March 3.

The Institute of Arts and Design, taking into account modern and current trends in the development of the fashion industry, as part of the student practice of the master's program "Fashion and Business" (Head of the educational program, Candidate of Art History, Associate Professor Ksenia Melekhova) held the first city meetup "Local fashion brands in the fashion industry."

“The fashion industry is a topic that is interesting to many, so we, as a flagship university in the region, decided to implement a project covering a lot of issues in this area. Leading specialists and experts of the All-Russian level agreed to take part in it, which once again confirmed the fact that the Institute of Arts and Design of Altai State University always keeps abreast of the news, initiating and implementing relevant projects in various fields of art, fashion and design," emphasized acting Director of the Institute of Humanities of Altai State University, Doctor of Arts Larisa Nekhvyadovich.

Young brands, original collections, small showrooms - there is a growing trend all over the world to buy unique clothes from small ateliers and local designers. In this regard, there is an acute demand for fashion industry specialists who are able to predict the success of the fashion business, build its communication with the consumer and ensure the commercial benefit of the project. The participants of the meetup were able to learn about the specifics of the industry, possibly generate an idea for their own brand and subsequently develop their fashion business,” said Head of the Department of History of Art, Costume and Textile, Candidate of Art History, Associate Professor I. Chernyaeva.

“A magical meeting of the most fashionable brands of the city took place in one place! The meetup brought together everyone who is interested in fashion, style and, of course, works in our city. It is wonderful that we exist, that we have something to share and learn from each other. We will definitely repeat it! The most fashionable institute of Barnaul - the Institute of Art and Design of Altai State University announces the recruitment of bachelors and masters in fashion and style, and invites to its large team those who are ready to move on and work on their brand at the global level. I'm not kidding! It will be so if we promote our Altai together!
