Altaisky District adopted a strategy of socio-economic development until 2035

Smolensky, Sovetsky, and Altaisky districts of Altai Krai became pilot participants in the Strategic Project of Altai State University "Sustainable Development of Altai Territories in the Transboundary Space." As part of the project, a team of experts from Altai State University developed 3 strategies for socio-economic development and a number of projects aimed at developing business, education, and the environment in the participating regions.

Altaisky District was the first to adopt a strategy of socio-economic development among the project participants. The strategy passed the stages of coordination with the Ministry of Economic Development of Altai Krai, the stage of public hearings in the district and was coordinated with the development strategy of Altai Krai. The adopted document includes a deep analysis of the territory of Altaisky District and formulates the main vectors, indicators, and principles of its development.

In the work on the strategy, in addition to the expert group from Altai State University, residents of Altaisky District took an active part: social activists, businessmen, and representatives of local authorities. Thanks to their participation, the strategy was made "viable": reflecting the real needs, strengths, and development prospects of the territory. The adoption of a social and economic development strategy is an important step for the district. This will make it possible to build a system of long-term strategic planning in the region, to carry out economic activities and financial planning more efficiently, as well as to participate in federal investment projects.

Lidia Grekova, Chairman of the Committee on Economics and Property Management of the Administration of Altaisky District of Altai Krai: “The strategy of socio-economic development of the municipal formation (MO) Altaisky District until 2035 has been developed taking into account the forecast and analysis of the socio-economic development of Altai District, within the framework of implementation powers of local significance of the municipal district in accordance with the current legislation of the Russian Federation, in conjunction with the main directions of socio-economic development of Altai Krai and the municipalities of Altaisky District. Achievement of the strategic goals set will contribute to a change in the nature, structure, and efficiency of the economy and social sphere, increase the efficiency of the infrastructure and the management sphere.”

For  Altaisky District, participation in the strategic project "Sustainable Development of Altai Territories in the Transboundary Space" does not end with the development and adoption of the strategy for socio-economic development. Now Altaisky District and the project team are embarking on an important stage - the stage of strategy implementation. Within the framework of the strategy, it is planned to implement projects on territorial branding and the formation of the "face" of the district, projects on information support of the district's activities, projects aimed at supporting and developing small and medium-sized businesses, educational programs for schoolchildren and already working specialists.
