On March 29, a meeting of students with a graduate of the Faculty of Law at ASU, a deputy of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Natalya S. Kuvshinova took place at the Law Institute.

The meeting was also attended by Director of the Law Institute Anton A. Vasiliev. He noted that such a meeting was held not for the first time and it was very pleasant that Natalya S. Kuvshinova always responded to the invitation, because lively conversations with a person from practice, especially with a lawmaker who worked on important bills, are always interesting and important for students majoring in jurisprudence.

In turn, N.S. Kuvshinova emphasized that, despite the fact that she graduated more than ten years ago, she still enjoyed returning to the walls of her alma mater.

The conversation took place in an informal setting and allowed us to get to know the work of a deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation and discuss the most important and relevant issues for modern youth.

The meeting began with a story by Natalia S. Kuvshinova about how she got into the sphere of politics. She had to be active and overcome all the difficulties. She first got into the Youth Parliament, and then into the State Duma.

The first question to the guest came from Anton A. Vasiliev, who touched on the topic discussed at many scientific and practical conferences on law – digitalization and related legislative regulation. Will the Law on Digital Rights be adopted in the near future? Will mining be legalized? Natalya S. Kuvshinova replied that issues related to technologies such as Big Data and blockchain were some of the most relevant ones. That is why the speaker of the State Duma was instructed to accept about twenty projects regarding the regulation of this sphere. The profile committee is actively working on the task. In addition, not so long ago, a seminar was held for deputies with the participation of German Gref, at which the speakers talked about modern digital technologies.

The meeting also addressed important issues related to youth policy. N.S. Kuvshinova is a member of the State Duma Committee on Physical Culture, Sports, Tourism and Youth Affairs, which, according to her, deals not only with youth leisure, but also solves the fundamental problems for society related to demography, small and medium enterprises, and many others.

To date, there have already been more than twelve legislative initiatives of the draft Law on Youth Policy, none of which have been supported. However, not so long ago, on behalf of the President, the State Council on Youth Policy was organized, and the idea of the bill was resumed. It was proposed to consolidate the possibility of providing subsidiary loans for education, to support the development of cultural leisure, to solve the problem of employing young specialists, to provide a system of social elevators for young people, and to support the development of sports. Each proposal was actively discussed in the framework of the discussions, and Natalya S. Kuvshinova noted that she was very pleased that the second half of the meeting aroused such keen interest.
