ASU participated in two major forums in Moscow

ASU representatives took part in Open Innovations Forum and Technology Show, which was held in Moscow at VDNKh from October 28 to November 1. Head of ASU Department of Innovative Development Yu.I. Ladygin was on the official delegation of Altai Krai. This large event has touched upon the problem of the future of technologies in life of modern people, economy and society. The primary focus was placed on 5 key areas of human life: production, environment, education, health and entertainment. Altai Krai inventions were exhibited at the stand of Association of Russian Innovative Regions.

The 9th International Biotechnological Exhibition Forum RosBioTech-2015 was held on 28-30 October at Expocenter (Moscow).

ASU stand exposed the latest biotechnological solutions for agriculture, foodstuff industry, medicine and health service prepared by the operating units (Altai Center of Applied Biology, Russian-American Anti-Cancer Center, South-Siberian Botanic Garden, Faculties of Chemistry and Biology). The inventions were presented by M.G. Kutsev, head of Bioengineering Laboratory of South-Siberian Botanic Garden; S.V. Smirnov, vice-director of South-Siberian Botanic Garden; O.V. Uvarova, research assistant of South-Siberian Botanic Garden.

ASU inventions and technologies, especially products for plants protection and growth simulation, attracted the interest of foreign guests, for example Vietnam government. “Bioterminator” caused a lively discussion among the Russian companies due to the fact that a lot of quarantine insect-pests have appeared in the European part of Russia lately.

Recombinant chymosin was another object of close attention. This product was developed by ASU scientists and is aimed at import-substituting campaign, which is a top-priority line of Russian modern economy.

ASU also had a hand in RosBioTech-2015 business program. Yu.I. Ladygin delivered the report called “Biotechnologies development at Altai State University” at “Russian Biotechnological Clusters: New Prospects for Development” panel discussion.

The pleasant part of the Forum was the announcement of competitions winners. Works “Biotemrinator – bio-insecticide for destruction of insect-pests of agricultural plants” and “Development of Chymosin Producers” took the gold medals and diplomas. Project “Eco-Stim Environmentally Safe Plant Growth Regulator” got the commemorative medal of Academician I.N. Blokhina International Biotechnological Fund.
