On November 19 the international scientific videoconference “Topical Issues of Correlation between International and National Law in the Modern World” dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the UNO establishment takes place.

In Barnaul the representatives of Altai Krai legislative and executive government, Altai universities’ faculties of law and legal community will gather to participate in the videoconference. ASU will be communicating with M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University, Povolzhie Institute (Branch) of the Russian Law Academy of the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation, Saratov Socio-Economic Institute of the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, Adygea State University, Pyatigorsk State Linguistic University. International video connection with Tajik State University of Law, Business and Politics will also be established.

“One of the main aims of the conference was to establish contacts with the colleagues from near-abroad regions and countries, as modern international legal and political processes lead to the integration of the former Soviet republics. This is why the participants of our conference are representing faculties of law of Central Asian universities,” said ASU organizing committee member Konstantin V. Cheprasov. “At the conference we will discuss the issues concerning the shaping of legal awareness and views not only in Russia, but also in near-abroad countries. We are going to specify the extent to which modern approaches to correlation between international and national law are similar to these of the former Soviet republics. The outcomes of the conference will include recommendations on reforming the UNO and other institutions of international law.”

In the framework of the conference the role of the UNO and its specialized agencies in the development of national law, international protection of human rights and freedoms, migration policy of modern countries and other topics will also be discussed. A collective volume of scientific works and the conference review in the Law Culture journal will be published as a part of following-up actions.

The videoconference opening will take place on November 19 at 1 p.m. at the ASU Academic Board Hall (656049, Russia, Barnaul, Dimitrova Street 66).
