The 4th Guardian Board meeting under the chairmanship of Altai Krai Governor Alexander B. Karlin took place at Altai State University.

The key issue of the meeting was considering the classical university’s work progress in 2015 and discussing the prospects for cooperation between the university and the guardians. The result of ASU endowment fund yearly work presented was also presented at the Guardian Board meeting. Its profit was directed to support for young scientists, students’ internships.

“It points to the fact that Altai State University does whatever is necessary for strengthening its future scientific potential,” states ASU President, Vice-Chairman of the ASU Guardian Board Yuriy F. Kiryushin. “Generally, very constructive work has been done at the Guardian Board meeting. Members rotation was conducted: five old members ceased their activities, seven new ones were elected. For such meetings it is a natural occurrence.”

Yuriy F. Kiryushin also emphasized that the region’s governor had given a high appraisal of the university’s work. According to President’s words, he had called it the contender for the status of the region’s leading university, which could by right become the overarching higher education establishment of Altai Krai.

“I believe that the overarching university must be the region’s leading university, and we are the main contender for this status, as ASU has advanced considerably in many scientific and educational areas over recent years. At the Guardian Board meeting the Governor supported our university in this issue, because, I think, the Administration needs to rely on a strong university. Although, it supports and will continue to support all higher education institutions of our region. We in turn will have to strengthen our positions, to prove the status of the overarching university by our progress and success!” summarized ASU President.
