ASU Scientific Library introduced international students to Russian New Year celebration traditions

Previous to New Year’s Day, Scientific Library of Altai State University carried out an educational lesson on Russian New Year celebration traditions for international students.

In the course of the event the participants got acquainted with the history of the holiday, New Year's characters Father Frost and Snow Maiden, traditional Russian cuisine, and also told each other about the New Year celebration traditions in their home countries. During the meeting, everyone was able to plunge into the atmosphere of childhood, recite a New Year's poem and receive a sweet gift from Father Frost. In addition, the students were able to wish each other happy holidays and show their intelligence while answering questions of the New Year's quiz. A pleasant surprise for the participants of the meeting was a comic win-win lottery and a tea party with traditional Russian pancakes.
