Delegation from ASU pays a friendly visit to Tajik National University

The delegation from flagship Altai State University of students and campus director Anton A. Tselevich paid an official visit to Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan.

During the meeting, Altai students met Rustam G. Ganiev, assistant to the rector of Tajik National University, and other young employees working for the main university of Tajikistan. ASU students visited a boarding school for children with disabilities in Dushanbe, where they presented gifts and talked to the children and staff. Funds for the gifts were collected through a charity concert of Nazrikhudzha Saidaliev held in Barnaul on November 16, in which students and creative teams of Altai State University took part.

During the visit to Dushanbe, the delegation from ASU was taken on an excursion to the Hissar Historical and Cultural Reserve, where archaeological and architectural monuments of the 4th – 3rd centuries BC are located. The excursion included a visit to the Hissar fortress, the old madrasa (educational institution), the caravanserai, the Mahdumi Azam mausoleum and the historical museum.

The meeting with the First Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Toir A. Khodzhayev, Vice-Rector for International Relations, Candidate of Law Khairullo M. Gafurov, Vice-Rector for Educational Work, Candidate pf Philology, Assistant Professor Jamila M. Rakhmonova and other representatives of university administration was held at Tajik National University. The university consists of 11 educational buildings, 7 dormitories, 19 faculties, where 24 thousand students are being trained in 56 majors, as well as 8 dissertation councils in 16 fields of knowledge. ASU students visited the Center for Biotechnology, where the director, Candidate of Biology, Assistant Professor, Corresponding Member of the Engineering Academy of Tajikistan Khursheda I. Bobodzhanova gave them a tour around the center, as well as the Faculty of Biology, the Faculty of International Relations, and the Museum of the Historical Faculty.

“Dushanbe is a student city in which all doors are open for young people, comfortable conditions have been created for the development in any direction: scientific, sports, creative, spiritual. There are many programs at Tajik National University that allow admitting students from other countries, including Russia. I want to believe that they will develop, and cooperation between our universities will only become stronger!” Polina Plotnikova, a 3rd-year student at the International Institute of Management, Economics and Informational Systems, shared her impressions.

When opening the event, the Rector of Tajik National University, Academician of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tajikistan, Academician of the Academy of Pedagogical and Social Sciences of the Russian Federation, Doctor of Philosophy, Professor Imomzoda M. Saidali welcomed the delegation from Altai State University and expressed his hope for the further cooperation between universities and the continuing exchange of cultures between Tajikistan and Russia.
