Director of the South-Siberian Botanical Garden at Altai State University, Doctor of Biology, Professor Alexander I. Shmakov joined the list of experts of one of the leading and authoritative world rankings of colleges and universities. A similar request for questioning has been sent to leading scientists from more than 100 places around the world.

For Alexander I. Shmakov, this status will allow expressing a personal opinion in the global academic survey “QS-2019”. The results will make up the bulk of the next QS World University Rankings, the most widely accepted global ranking that helps millions of students around the world choose their university.

QS ranking provides for an assessment of the university’s scientific activities based on the number of citations of university articles in the Scopus database, the ratio of the number of teachers and students, and the number of international employees and students.

“It was extremely pleasant and honorable for me to receive news about the assignment of QS expert status. In the course of scientific activity, I had a certain idea about the research and educational component of a number of universities in Europe, Japan, China, the CIS countries, as well as the universities of our country. I hope my information for the authoritative global QS rating will help the new applicants to make the right choice in the future,” Alexander I. Shmakov commented.

It should be noted that in 2018 ASU entered the list of the best universities in the world recognized by the “QS World University Rankings” academic community.
