Regional contest "Best Volunteer of Abilympics" in Altai Krai finished at ASU

The competition was held to identify, encourage and support young people involved in volunteer activities, popularize the Abilympics volunteer movement, and attract young people to volunteer in Altai Krai.

The purpose of the competition is the development and formation of volunteering culture in the Russian Federation.

Competition objectives:

• assisting the development of inclusive volunteering;
• identification, dissemination and support of the best volunteer practices, innovative forms of organization of volunteer activities;
• enhancing the competencies of project leaders using training programs and a mentoring system;
• informing youth about the role of volunteerism in the process of civil society formation;
• involvement of young people of different social and age groups in volunteering, including people with disabilities;
• formation of a high status and image of a volunteer in society, including among young people.

Participants of the competition presented volunteer projects and self-presentation on their achievements in volunteer activities, prepared a photo report on the participation, as a volunteer, in the regional stage of the Abilympics championship.

According to the results of the competition, prizes were distributed as follows:

• I place – Roman Istomin  Nikolaevich, 3rd year student of Biysk Industrial and Technological College;
• II place – Lidia Naydanova, 4th year student of Altai State Medical University;
• III place – Anastasia Fomicheva, 1st year student of Altai State Medical University.

Prize winners of the competition were awarded with diplomas.
