An online conference was held at Altai State University with the participation of a famous American scientist, Ph.D., Professor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Jeffrey E. Dick.

The main topic of the event, which was attended by leading scientists from the flagship university in Altai Krai, was a discussion of AltSU areas of cooperation with the Laboratory of Nano-Electro and Bioanalytical Chemistry of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, led by Jeffrey E. Dick.

The conference was attended by Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation of AltSU, Doctor of Social Sciences, Professor, Svetlana G. Maksimova, Director of Russian-American Anti-Cancer Center of AltSU Andrey I. Shapoval, Head of the Department of Physical and Inorganic Chemistry, Institute of Chemistry and Chemical-Pharmaceutical Technologies, Professor, Sergey A. Beznosyuk, and representatives of institutes and scientific divisions of AltSU.

“Jeffrey already knows our university, he has paid a visit to our university and even held open lectures on the use of nanoelectrochemistry in complex biological systems to understand the elements of human disease. We have common interests, so we are discussing how to most effectively organize our collaboration”, said Andrey I. Shapoval. - During the conference, we remotely got acquainted with the laboratory of Jeffrey E. Dick, learned what projects it implements in the field of nanotechnology, and how molecular studies of cells are organized in the laboratory. For example, they work with sensors that can be embedded inside the cell and examine its metabolism, study the metastatic potential of tumor cells, etc. ”
