Rector of AltSU Sergey N. Bocharov became an expert of the federal project “Export of Education” at the Moscow International Education Fair 2020

During the Moscow International Education Fair, which is taking place online these days, the discussion platform “Export of Russian Education: tools for finding and attracting foreign citizens to study in Russia” was held. The discussion was moderated by Larisa Efremova, Vice-Rector for International Affairs at The Peoples' Friendship University of Russia (RUDN University). The participants were Vice-Rector of the Higher School of Economics Ivan Prostakov, Vice-Rector for International Affairs of Saint Petersburg Electrotechnical University "LETI" Anastasia Minina, Head of the Department for the Development of Language Programs of the RUDN University Natalia Gushchina, Head of the Department of International Educational Programs and Academic Mobility of Peter the Great  St. Petersburg Polytechnic University Olga Emelyanova.

At the invitation of the organizers, Rector of the flagship Altai State University Sergey Bocharov acted as the speaker of the discussion platform. The presentation was devoted to the current directions of work to preserve the recruitment of foreign applicants to Russian universities under the new conditions. As one of the key tasks, Sergei Nikolaevich singled out the activation of foreign resource and representative centers of the university.

“It is absolutely clear that during the 2020 admission campaign, the Russian higher education system will have to show not only technological readiness and digital competencies, but also demonstrate the ability to respond very quickly and flexibly to changing conditions by implementing various models of education export, taking into account regional characteristics. In this situation, resource centers operating in partner countries are a significant success factor. Preserving the affiliate network and realizing the potential of resource centers in a remote format should be considered as an important condition for maintaining the pace of the implementation of the federal project “Education Export” said Sergey N. Bocharov.

It should be mentioned that at the moment AltSU affiliate network in Central Asia has 25 resource and representation centers, Russian language centers and basic schools in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Mongolia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. In 2019, as part of the federal project “Export of Education”, AltSU, as part of a consortium of leading Russian universities, took part in the creation of five foreign resource centers for Russian education on the basis of Russian-language schools in Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Mongolia, Bulgaria and Turkey.
