Prospects of cooperation between the state and civil society in combating corruption were discussed at AltSU
The conference was organized by the Altai Regional Organization of Psychological and Social Support and Health Protection Positive Development, Altai State University, the Resource Center for the Development of Civil Initiatives and Promotion of the Integration of Peoples and Cultures in Altai Krai.
The opening of the conference began with the welcoming words of the guests and honorary members of the conference presidium. The first to address the forum participants was chairman of the public chamber of Altai Krai, Lev Korshunov, who cordially congratulated those present on the opening of the conference, pointed out the need for a comprehensive and in-depth consideration of the problem and wished creative and fruitful work.
Then Oksana Kiseleva, Head of the Department for the Prevention of Corruption and Other Offenses of the Department of the Administration of the Governor and the Government of Altai Krai for Ensuring Regional Security, and Irina Ralko, consultant of the Department for Interaction with Civil Society Institutions of the Department of the Administration of the Governor and the Government of Altai Krai for issues of domestic policy, who spoke about the measures to combat corruption being implemented in Altai Krai, including the interaction of state authorities and civil society institutions in this area.
Svetlana Maksimova, Doctor of Sociological Sciences, Professor, Vice-Rector for Scientific and Innovative Development of Altai State University, member of the Public Chamber of Altai Krai, Chairman of the Council of AKOO PSSPZ Positive Development, Director of the Resource Center for Development of Civil Initiatives and Promoting the Integration of Peoples and Cultures in Altai Krai. She spoke about the prerequisites for holding the conference, expressed confidence in its necessity and timeliness, the importance of such discussions with the participation of all interested parties.
The plenary reports that followed the welcoming speeches were devoted to a wide range of issues - the role of scientific discourse in theoretical and empirical understanding of corruption (E. Popov), the pain threshold of sensitivity of the population of Altai Krai to corruption (M. Cherepanova), the possibilities of mediation and alternative methods of dispute settlement as a technology that reduces the risk of corruption in court proceedings (Ya. Mezhenin), factors and models of the reproduction of everyday corruption in Altai Krai (D. Omelchenko). After the plenary session, the work continued in the framework of the sections, during which the problem of corruption was considered in a broad interdisciplinary context. As a result of the conference, it is planned to publish the proceedings, which will reflect both the abstracts of the participants' reports and a resolution with the main proposals that will be brought to the attention of state authorities in the Russian regions.
The conference aroused great interest both in academic structures and among non-profit organizations dealing with the problems of preventing corruption among the population, civil and political activists of the country. Participants from Barnaul, Moscow, Kazan, Kaliningrad, Ufa, Volgograd, Kumertau, Krasnodar, Essentuki, Omsk, Tomsk, Abakan, Krasnoyarsk, Syktyvkar, Rostov- on-Don, Ukhta, Tula, as well as Botevgrad (Bulgaria) and Pavlodar (Kazakhstan).
