On January 20, in secondary school №136, one of the stages of the action of Altai State University called "Run to AltSU", aimed at increasing both physical and cognitive activities of schoolchildren in Altai Krai, took place.

About 80 teams from 60 schools in the region are taking part in the action, which started on January 18. The action acquaints schoolchildren of 8-11 grades with the flagship university of the region, its history and institutions, the peculiarities of admission, and also invites high school students to compete in performing creative tasks and the amount of steps taken within the university.

Within the framework of the action, it is necessary to complete three stages: make a poster dedicated to the action, hold a thematic class hour "Experts Club at AltSU" and shoot a video with a story about why schoolchildren choose the flagship university of Altai Krai for their further education. Additional points are awarded for each completed stage.

So, for example, Barnaul school No. 136 in the action is represented by the Top League team, with 10 grade students: Vladimir Sokolov, Vera Galyuta, Vladislav Gedryakov, Artem Kondratyev, and Anna Varnavskaya. Since the team's motto is "More action, less words!", today the guys were busy with completing the final stage of the action - a video about choosing a direction of study at the university.

“The action “Run to AltSU” is a new, unique, modern format of interaction between the university and the school within the framework of career guidance work. As practice shows, today up to 70 percent of graduates cannot decide by themselves on the choice of a future profession, therefore, a personified type of career guidance is in demand. The action, which is carried out by the flagship university of the region, corresponds to it. I am sure that thanks to this form of interaction, our students will consciously approach the choice of a profession when entering a university, which will help them become competitive specialists in the modern world in the future,” said Marina Bendrikova, Deputy Director for Educational Work at school No. 136.

“Because of the pandemic, everyone had to stay at home for a long time; physical activity has decreased greatly, so it was decided to make counting the steps taken by schoolchildren as one of the requirements of the action. Thus, within the framework of the campaign "Run to AltSU" we invited senior pupils to move for the benefit of themselves and their future!" summed up Head of the Department for Recruiting Applicants Veronika Klochko.
